Dr. Aimee Eggler is an Associate Professor at Villanova University. (Go Wildcats!) She teaches Chemistry and Biochemistry classes, and she received the Villanova Junior Faculty Teaching Award in 2016. She loves helping students understand life at the molecular level, for example, how our bodies convert food into energy, or what causes diseases.

Dr. Eggler also does research with a team of students on several topics. For example, the team is figuring out how molecules in superfoods (think apples, berries, cinnamon, onions, etc.) turn on our bodies' defenses against stressors that cause cancer, diabetes, and other long-term illnesses. Another major project for the lab is collecting air particles from Philadelphia subway stations and seeing how they affect lung cells. She is delighted for the invitation to speak at the Spring 2023 PAGES event and to share more about her journey as a scientist.
